Week 24 - WTA International ($227K) - Nottingham Grass

Safarova & Vekic have been helpfully slugging it out in a very competitve, and crucially, attritional, match for 160 minutes in the heat.
Now into a deciding TB to determine Jo's opponent in the final.
Got to be fatiguing.

Vekic prevails. It's Jo v. CRO to-mor-row.

4-6 *1-3

I see that they only dropped 7 points on serve in the first set. Unfortunately 4 of these were in one game where the Aussies took the one BP chance they had. Joss & Laura were 0/4 on BPs.

Not to be, MTB lost 10-4

Still very good from the pair this week and as a correspondent said re Joss teaming up with Laura for the grass season, "why not"

Laura & Joss did really well to get it to a MTB as it looked like they were out of it at 4-6 1-3, but unfortunately they didn't get close in the MTB itself. The points behind Joss's serve were the weak point today, but other than that they played a good match for the most part.

Two new doubles champions on the WTA.
Both Australian sadly.

It was a good opportunity with neither Aussie ranked in the top 120, but then, neither are either Brit.
