Lloyd at least has a few decent matches under his belt, whereas Soeda doesnt, so could be an advantage to Lloyd. I wonder if Dan not withdrawing yet is to see how it calms down, maybe it isnt as bad as thought?

Lovely! Good win for Lloyd today , v comfortable!

Now confirmed, Dan has withdrawn from Nottingham officially

LL Alex de Minaur (Aus) ranked 243 has taken his place in the draw and will play Brydan Klein WC

From the Beeb's rolling sprots news page:

'I need more rest'

More on the news we brought you at 9:57 that top seed Dan Evans has withdrawn from the Aegon Open in Nottingham.

The Briton sustained the injury in the quarter-final of the Surbiton Trophy on Saturday, where he was forced to retire after leading German Dustin Brown 6-3 4-2.

"The injury I picked up at Surbiton last week needs more rest before I can get back on court," said Evans.

"This is my favourite time of the year so I'm getting treatment and will do everything to be ready for Queen's next week. Thanks for all the messages of support, it really means a lot."

Really really good match between Cam and De Schepper. Cam has just played a quite frankly wonderful return game to break for the second set.

Lloyd is looking at a 30 place rise week to date based on Live Rankings, good show and good return on the week. Polmans in the next round, never played before it seems

Unlucky for Cam - that was a very close match - lost by 3 breaks to 4 effectively.

They served for the match at 5-3 & held three match points, but couldn't convert any of them.

QF:   (PR) Yuki Bhambri & Dudi Sela (IND/ISR) CR 1238 (986+252) vs Brydan Klein & Joe Salisbury CR 333 (168+165)

Bhambri & Sela have just dumped out the top seeds, Knowle & Oswald, by 7-6(6) 6-7(7) [10-3], so are not to be underestimated.

Groth hasn't won a singles match at ATP or ITF level since January, despite playing several tournaments. He's 3 and 9 for the year according to the ITF, but doesn't include this week.
I'm hoping for a good result.

He's also doing a diary for Tennis Channel and he's going to want something positive to put in there, so watch out.

theyre 1-1 H2H, albeit from Futures tennis 7 years back. I actually do fancy Brydan in this one, it will be about getting hold of some returns, Groth hasnt got much outside of his serve and volley.

Brydan has a chance if Groth's serve is not firing properly.
