Harriet+KD lost 2-6, 6(3)-7

Naomi+ lost 4-6, 4-6

Anna+'s SF to start soonish. Her 50 points so far are a drop score, so don't affect her ranking; so overall, much less good news on the doubles front.

Anna looks increasingly like our leading doubles player, and will take over from Naomi in the live rankings next week; this week if she wins the title here.

Think Heathers result shows the gap between her level and the up and coming ones. Am I right in saying she ll be top 100 again now if she wins the title?

Looks as though there is a bit of a jump in points to top 100. Live rankings suggests that the extra 90 points for winning it would take her to 541 points, and only 108 in the rankings

Indeed, although 551 points. Live WR 100 currently showing as on 600 points precisely.

Great for Heather to reach the final here. I think Rybarikova will have too much for her though, still good for Heather's confidence to string a few wins together.

Well, I should hope so. Heather should be WR 60 or so (says me, slightly biased but hey)

Whereas Harriet should be WR 180 or so (again slightly biased but even as a mega fan, she's not top 120 smile)

Hev strikes me as a very talented natural athlete, a bundle of explosive power and fast twitch fibres who could have probably picked her sport. Jo Konta ticks that box too. I don't see any of the up and comings having that in their lockers, perhaps Freya, Gabby Taylor?? and others have other USP's that if played to may allow them to play top 100 tennis, ie Laura, Katie Swan and Naomi. The more natural athletes we can get trying tennis at 8-10 the better.

Emily Arb is one of the most natural athletes I've seen amongst our players. Stands out.

I agree that most of the others aren't especially.

But then neither is Maria Sharapova - never seen a more ungainly, flat-footed runner.

Gemma Heath, in my view, has extra special ball skills (although that's not quite the same thing)
