Great final but got to feel for Halep after Jelena got that outrageous net cord on break point at 3-3 in the decider, that really tilted things in her favor at a crucial moment and it was over in a flash after that.

So is this a final that had the potential to become absolutely memorable if it had been best of 5 ?

I do see kaseldop's point re some men's 5 setters living in the memory. Although I generally am for symmetry through a competition, is an answer maybe to make women's Slams later stages best of 5 ? - can be accomodated better since would be much more of a scheduling issue if you had it all the way through plus I would be concerned about depth and 3 set early round thrashings would probably not be a great watch.
