Weeks 22-23 - Roland-Garros, France - clay

Andy from *3-5 recovers the break he was down and is now 6-5*.

David Ferrer vs Feliciano Lopez goes past 3 and a half hours, after Ferrer's 4 hour 27 minute R1 defeat of Donald Young. Ferrer is 1-3* down in the final set. Is he running out of gas? Probably not ...

Klizan takes the set on a TB though.

Ferrer has fought back and is on serve at *4-5

Almagro was a set all and 1-1 in the third when he knee gave out again. Del Potro goes through

Berdych is on the brink. Kachanov is two set up and leads 4-2* in the 3rd.

Andy drops the first set on the tiebreak 7-6(3). To possibly not enormous surprise he has another fight on his hands.

Meantime Del Potro beat Almagro 6-3 3-6 1-1 retired and will play the winner in R3.

Kachanov has taken out Berdych, which also means that Kyle's match is about to start.

Andy makes it one set all and breaks at the start of the third, 6-7(3) 6-2 *1-0

Kyle broken in his first game with his first serve taking a time to find the target, initially 1/8 before 4/12 in the game, 0-1*

Murray now up 6-7, 6-2, 6-2, 5-5. Was 3-5 down in the fourth, but as in the first has broken back with Klizan serving for it. Hopefully this set doesn't go the same way...

Edmund in control against Olivo, two sets to the good.

Andy into a fourth set TB.  Indeed hope we don't follow the script of the first set.

He may have 6 breaks to 2, have won 7 more games to date and 22 more points than Klizan so far, but that's history if it goes to a fifth and it is most sets that count.

Yay, another 7-3 TB but this time the good way. G, S & M.

Hopefully Kyle is about to follow suit. He is 5-1* up in the 3rd and up 2 sets to love.

Very tidy. Very clean. Olivo obviously capitulated a bit in the third set - that match v Tsonga lefts its mark - but Kyle was very efficient, going about his business.

Kyle wins 7-5 6-3 6-1

R3 opponent as they say to be determined. Anderson leads Kyrgios 2 sets to 1 and *2-1 in the fourth with a break.

I actually prefer either of Kyle's possible R3 opponents to Del Potro. As long as he is here and fit he is very dangerous.

I think Del Potro practically retired in his match today, though, and probably would have done if Amalgro hadn't retired first !

As you say, fit, he's a big danger. But at the moment....looks a bit dodgy....
