Well done Aljaz - Unfortunately I missed it.

I see that the WR 1 ( but race just # 13 ) troubles continue at R-G with a R1 exit.

That though is the woman of that description, Angie Kerber. I sincerely hope that Andy doesn't make it a double !

According to a report on the Beeb's site, Aljaz thinks Harrison "tanked" in the second set!

As Aljaz says himself it appears to have been tactical

It would conserve Harrison's energy for the third set and beyond on a hot day and disrupt Aljaz's rythym.

Maybe some would regard it as not quite cricket ( or tennis ! ) but it is very different from tanking a match. It appears that he was playing to win the match.

Aljaz is through, no point in rather provocative language, whatever one thinks of the tactics.

No signs of a tank on Court 17 where Ferrer is currently 12-11 up in the 5th against Donald Young. Just a normal day at the office for Ferrer then.

I think Aljaz said it as it is (and wasn't critical), and the Beeb have tried to spice it up.

For me it is an acceptable tactic if you are down in a set to conserve energy and regroup - losing the battle, but giving yourself a chance to win the war.

Verdasco has just taken out Alex Zverev in 4 sets, in a match carried over from yesterday.

Two terrible forehands from Murray as he served for the set. Kuznetzov breaks back. Brazilian commentator says "Is that really Andy Murray out there?"

Edit

Obviously it is as he breaks to love to seal the 1st set 6-4.  Not very inspiring stuff so far though but getting the job done.

2nd set to Kuznetzov.

Hate to ask this, but when was the last time the top seed in both men's and women's were both knocked out in the 1st round of the same slam.

You're obviously feeling positive about this one then.

And in other news, Kyle takes his first set 6-3.
And Andy is a break up in his 3rd.

Nothing like a bit of "reverse psychology" jinxing when things are looking tough.

Murray wins 3rd and 4th set for the loss of only two games to take the match.
