RE: Weeks 22-23 - Roland-Garros, France - clay

Robredo takes the second set by 6-4 to level the match & that after Dan went up an early break.  cry

Might be even harder for Dan to keep his cool after that time violation at 15-40 and set points down. Hope he can put that behind him but I'd make Robredo a slight favourite now.

Come on Dan, you can do this!

That umpire does seem to pick his moments for time violations - likes set points, not the first time it's happened

I suspect we might see Evo throw the towel in if he loses this set. Looks dead on his feet the poor lad!

Rather bizarre service game from Robredo there. Dan barely had to hit a ball and broke to love! *3-4 in the third.

But is that not the most successful French Open of his career! Great to see him in the first round which bizarrely is a reward for success on every surface but clay. Also looking forward to seeing him pair up with a previous junior RG doubles winner! I know it's easy money for predominantly (top) singles players but by it's very essence it screams team, fun, forward planning and DC depth.

Actually, Oakland, as one of the people who often objects to singles players 'dropping in' for a bit of extra money, this is one that I, too, favour - precisely because it is a potential DC pairing, and good for them to get a sense of how they would work together in the DC on clay.

After a bit of a hiccup in the third set, Aljaz progresses to the last 64:

L128:  Aljaz Bedene WR 52 defeated Ryan Harrison (USA) WR 42 by 6-4 6-0 3-6 6-1  biggrin

Aljaz will play the winner of Jack Sock (seeded 14) and Jiri Vesely. Currently, Vesely is 2 sets up.

L64:  Jiri Vesely (CZE) WR 57 (CH = 35 in April 2015) vs Aljaz Bedene WR 52

The Czech did for Sock by 5, 5 & 3!
