Fom the little bits I saw it was a good match. As others have said Anderson is far from one dimensional compared to some well ranked big servers and there were good baseline rallies.
As you say, Bob, very good at least to see the stamina shown and very good in clutch points ( I believe he has a recent good record in these ), taking 1/2 BPs and saving 12/15.
Good effort against a good and, currently due to injury absences, very underranked player. And at times clear development in more finding angles than just relying on power.
It looks as if he may have gone on a slight siesta having looked in control of the second set. But still getting it won no doubt drove another nail in, at which point the chances of Del Potro coming back to win in probably over 5 hours won't have looked at all good, and that probably included to Del Potro.
I think poor Del Potro knew the writing was on the wall as he slumped over that net at the end of the first set. He would give his all, but he had an idea of how much he had in his tank.
Andy's R4 / L16 opponent will be either (21) Isner or Khachanov ( who beat (13) Berdych in R2 ). Khachanov has taken the first on a TB.
Possible QF opponent (8) Nishikori looks like he may be heading for a final set against 21 yo Hyeon Chung. Verdasco will be the L16 opponent for the winner of that match.
There is now a rain delay though. Wouldn't want Andy's possible opponents to have to come back tomorrow, although I am sure Isner's match would still be speedily resolved

Good for Chung, who's just come back after injury. He's really regained his ranking and is quite ready to have a major win (though Nishikori is such a fine person that one would hate to see it at his expense). Whoever wins that match though should have an interesting match against Fernando Verdasco who just demolished Cuevas, having also conquered Zverev - both of whom are hardly mugs on clay.
I sincerely hope they don't schedule anything after Khachanov/Isner ....

Maybe Kyle should skip the grass and continue with high end clay court challengers, maintain his ranking and prepare for US hard courts.....( I know he isn't allowed to btw ) Watched him on grass a few times he does really struggle on it. Given the relatively few grass tournaments it's not a major priority only for the fact his profile in the UK will not be as high at Wimbledon etc.
I always prefer 2nd week of RG the ATP players always come through. Andy did enough today some clever tennis when needed. Unlucky Kyle it was a great chance today, did as well as he could in my opinion considering the opponent.

Khachanov has taken out Isner in 4 sets and Nishikori finally prevailed 6-4 in the 5th against Chung.
Every one of Nadals opponents have looked beaten from the start. The body language gives you a major clue. 9/2 Nadal to win these rounds losing 6 games or less. Not a gambling man myself but know a couple people who have invested in this. Looks a ridiculous price at the moment.
I've still got a feeling for Thiem this year and Halep in the women's.
