Kyle as his record shows in the last few challengers he played a year or more ago is just too good for that level, he won them at a canter, Evo wasn't even close to competing in Dallas. He has moved on to the next level and as BiS pointed out lost to some established stars in ATP events, at a rank of 50 or less he can't play challengers, so can't be a challenger player even if Jaggy wants him to be one unless it is Jaggy who is responsible for the dispensation in which case he is right and we are all wrong.
Kyle is now an established ATP tour pro working on moving into the star/superstar level where he would be seeded at slams. To be where he is at his age is spectacular, there is work to do to take that next step, personally I feel it is just a matter of time, his technique and basic weaponry have put him where he is, as we have seen with Thiem there is so much more to learn between the ages of 22-26, Kyle has barely got started.

Think you know the answer. One swallow doesn't make a summer. Djokovic schooled him I believe, cantered through 7 games lost in 3 sets. He beat a half fit Gasquet, American Wild Card and Isner who even James Bog.. Ward defeated I believe.
The point based on evidence stands.
He also nearly beat a much fitter Gasquet towards the end of last year and would have been in his first ATP final had he finished it off!
