Venus has only won two titles on clay in the last ten years (both Acapulco), out of 16 total (ITF stats 2007 - 2016), and a handful before that.
But I agree, she is very good on clay, and I didn't expect Jo to win that match even though she is improving rapidly.
Svitolina wins, congratulations to her. The least heralded of her little group when their careers began (Keys, Stephens, Bouchard, Robson etc) but certainly looking the most likely now. She has a habit of just winning, and winning titles, too.
More pertinently to GB fans, this meand Johanna moves back down to 8th.
Cibulkova & Muguruza both have large points to drop before Wimbledon, so it's not too hard to see a return to sixth place, top 5 looks pretty locked in for the time being though, and Jo will need to defend her own points well to make a good run at it.
