Evo back to his bad boy worst or just not that good on clay?

There is no head-to-head.

Again, no head-to-head.

Aljaz is a lucky boy:

Or maybe Vesely played very well? Did anyone watch?

Agreed and Aljaz does love Rome based on his challenger titles here and he gave Djoker a decent match at RG last year when Novak was in significantly better form.  I give him a Dennis Istomin's chance of pulling off an upset here.

The latter I think.  I think he is only here because it is mandatory for his ranking and even a R1 loss pays well but given the option I think he would prefer to do a Federer and skip the whole clay season bar RG.

Edit.  Also worth pointing out Vesely has form on clay having beaten a pre slump Djokovic in the early rounds of Monaco last year.

Aljaz has just broken to go 6-5. That's the third break of serve this set. Here's hoping he can hold for the set.

Unfortunately no, Aljaz loses his serve and the TB. 1st set to Mager 7-6(3)

I saw that, gutting. I've not heard of Mager, but he's WR 363 so I'm not sure why Aljaz is making such a meal of it.

I've just had a look at the pre match odds and it seems that Mager was the slight favorite. He doesn't seem to have done anything spectacular, but he's 22 so up and coming I guess.

From 6-7 3-4* Aljaz has spun off 5 in a row. Now 6-7 6-4 *2-0
