So did I, but I suppose he's still acclimatising to the step-up.  Disappointing nevertheless.

I thought he was going to win easily early on when he almost went a double break up. He was serving for the 1st set when I had to go to sleep so I was surprised to see the final score in the morning. Still, he hasn't done much wrong recently!

Yes, I think the worst thing he's done is fall over at the Davis Cup.

Liam has just won the first 7 games against the player who beat him in the 2011 Wimbledon boys' final - didn't see that coming!

8 games in a row - he has won 84% of his service points (winning the last game with only his 1st ace) and 65% on return, including all 11 of the points on Saville's 2nd serve

He breaks again, to love - 6-0 *3-0, now up to 68% on return.

Meanwhile, Sarmiento has taken the 1st set against Joe 6-2

Liam holds to love, 6-0 4-0* - presumably Saville isn't 100%, but even if he isn't, this is a very impressive demolition job so far

Sarmiento breaks in the 1st game of the 2nd set

Ed won 6-4 6-1

Hopefully Ed and Liam can win their FQR, earn 5 ranking points and join Brydan and Alex im the main draw.

It's a big points challenger, 10 points for reaching R2, 25 points for reaching the QF, ..... 125 points for the title.

Roelofse just won his QR1 match 12-10 in a 3rd set breaker.  I am hoping he will be pretty tired when Ed plays him.

Yes, I know, & as it lasted two hours & 20 minutes, with any luck, he will be a wee bit tired.

Well done in the singles, both (and hope Luke S is OK).

Liam and Ed are also currently playing their doubles Q match against Miedler and Purcell.

Lost the first set 4-6 but a break up in the second.

Some deeply disturbing comments on Jay's loss. To say they've had me tossing and turning all night would be a supreme understatement. Horrid 1000 ranked players don't simply pitch up to Challengers and play at a significantly higher level, which appears to be the premise for scores of earlier posts on here. It is a misguided notion that many on here would do well do disabuse themselves of.
