Lost unfortunately 4-6 in the 3rd. Tara did not play as well today as yesterday, otherwise she would have won this relatively comfortably. She was rushing towards the end, and making far more errors than yesterday, when she was hitting the ball more solidly and placing it better. Ruse was using a lot of slices, which was probably the difference, Tara not dealing with them as well. A pity, I thought Tara was going to qualify there early in the 3rd set, but she seemed to lose a bit of focus towards the end of that final set.
Swan gets Barthel, could have been easier, but at least not Rybarikova. Watson gets Lao and she'll be happy with that. Magda for Swan if they both come through.
First time since Nottingham 2016 that we've had 5 girls in a main WTA tour tournament. Shame Stosur opted for a WC and we didn't get our 3 like last year, although I suppose Katie S would have probably got that and would have missed out on those qualifying points. I reckon we could get 3 into the next round, although 2 will likely be facing each other.
Gabi well up against it, but would like to think both Katie's have a decent shot and would be nice to get (at least) one of those through.
Surprise surprise, tomorrow is still a cheap ticket day so there are no Brits playing singles tomorrow. Jo and the Katies have doubles that's all.
Gabi's had the toughest singles draw of the Brits too weeks in a row now, although at least this week she 'only' faces the #6 seed instead of the top seed, although Vekic is ranked higher than Heather of course. Still I guess it's giving her a taste of what the big time is like if she wants to get that far.

All the best to them all. And I reckon Gabi should embrace such matches. You of course wouldn't want seeds every week ( and at other times she certainly wouldn't ) but for now with the year she's had at bit lower levels, and surely no pressure whatever re a Wimbleon MD WC and that highlight and challenge to come, you go girl, test yourself and enjoy such competition. It's what you work and play for. Hope she's feeling much better so can really give of her best.

Though if they take your fancy, there are men's challenger single matches on - Ed's FQR match and George's R1 match on at the same time then followed by the Liam vs Alex R1 match, plus later Liam & Scott's doubles R1 match.
This type of draw is exactly what our younger girls need to develop, the great improvement in rank from playing well now gives them a crack at genuine WTA players which I am sure is where they all have their sights set for the peak years of their careers. Agreed if you are 28 and trying to eek out a living a draw like this would be a frustration for some but not this group. Lets hope Gaby has recovered and can go back to the well and literally give Vekic a run for her money.
Great serving under pressure from Katie S with two aces and a winner to save three break points and take the first set.
Katies' 6-3 over the No 3 seeds
Tomorrow is rather an irresistible day schedule wise. Think I might just mosey on over to Nottingham Tennis Centre !!! Presume I can still get a ticket at the gate.
Yes, Court 1 is the place for the British women, all 4 of them other than Jo, with a random ATP challenger doubles match in between the 3rd and 4th, to go for a stretch ( Jo could be on Centre then ) before finishing with Katie B.

It looks as if there are plenty of tickets available - click through from https://www.theticketfactory.com/ltanw/online/ to check availability in different sections. If you want to concentrate on the outside courts you can get a cheaper grounds pass
