I think that Ryan should give up singles and concentrate on doubles now that his total doubles rankings points (10) have overtaken his total singles ranking points (8)

Yes. Things may not be going too well for Joel in the singles right now (although I'm still very confident that will come in time), but this is his 3rd doubles final in consecutive weeks. Let's hope it's 3rd time lucky and that he & Ryan can bag a title here his week.

The first half of the first set was extremely close, and the second not bad either.
Ryan had 9 break points but only managed 1.
Marc, though, managed to convert 4 out of 6 of his.
Ryan lost the first set 2-6
And looks like the second might be similar as he's 1-4 down
