I'd disagree. Not the desired outcome, unquestionably. But both GB players lost to significantly higher ranked opponents, neither with a particularly dreadful scoreline. Bemelmans has been top 100 in the recent past, and has won one Challenger and been in the finals of another this year. So not, I would say, unduly poor losses.
