I think it was CD who articulated at one point that Aljaz Bedene is a confidence player. Hope this run provides confidence for the foreseeable future, barring anything untoward.

Not sure it was me, Spec, (don't want to the credit away from someone else ! )
I've seen Aljaz play twice and liked him as a player to watch - nothing flashy, but well-balanced, technically good, and friendly - I remember lots of support from his GB team (all calling him Ali). But I don't remember any specific thoughts about confidence.
But really, really good to see him doing well. I was worried he'd really let this Davis Cup saga get to him and drag him down.
Anyone else find it sad that on the BBC sport there are currently 8 stories on the tennis page with none of them mentioning Aljaz's exploits? 3 mentions for Sharapova 3 mentions for Murray 1 for nastase and for drugs testing (essentially another Sharapova story)
Also find it rather sad that Evo decided to take a pop at Aljaz on twitter today, maybe he was trying to be funny but it came off as mean spirited and jealous.
Ouch, you're right it makes Dan look immature at best and mean spirited at best. It's handy pouille is the opponent in the final, good to see how Aljaz might have fared in DC tie
I don't take the ITF's rules as being any basis for someone's true national affiliations, or my support of them.
The British government have accepted him as a Briton, that's my criteria (behind his own desire to be British, and the evidence that his life is here).
Parliament beats the ITF Davis Cup regulations, in my view.
Indeed, the LTA have accepted him as British. That also beats the bods at the ITF Davis Cup Committee.

James Blake had a British passport. Why did you not support him and cheer when he reached the US open SF??
Reading Dans twitter I'm not sure you can say he is having a go at Aljaz here's perhaps laughing about the fact Aljaz can't play Davis Cup meaning it's a joke he can't. It's a bit ambiguous Id say.
