Tight 1st set goes Ali's way, 7-5. Hopefully he can run away with the second now and save some energy. If he keeps his recent form up he won't be playing too many more qualifying rounds anytime soon!

L16:  Robin Haase (NED) WR 46 (CH =33 in July 2012) vs (Q) Aljaz Bedene WR 68

Haase's just beaten Diego Schwartzman (8) by 1 & 3...  The Argentine's the second seed to be knocked out today, the first being Gilou (5), who lost by 4 & 1 to the Frat Boy (Q) earlier.

And the hits just keep on coming.

So good to see Aljaz hit his strap again this year. The previous few months have been difficult for him.

Excellent - as it stands he has moved above Dan in the live Race (#30 v #31) and will stay that way unless Dan can beat Thiem later. Good work from Aljaz, good to see him back on form and presumably in a good place in his head

Fantastic. Well done Aljaz. He definitely has his 'MoJo' back and is reaping the rewards IMO of a clever and well balanced schedule.
The match to decide his QF is about to enter the 3rd set after Dzhumhur levelled at 1-1 with big Ivo.
