Jamie & Bruno were runners up in Monte Carlo last year, losing in the final to Herbert & Mahut in a CTB.

Just realised that both Brits who played MC last year went out to Nadal - Aljaz in R2 and Andy in the semis.

 That Brit basher!

Dan's backhand is heaven blessed this morning.

And it's so good to see him come out so pumped up.

Not sure he'll keep it up all match, and it's a shame it's Kyle on the other side, but it's certain;y proving those doubters on page 1 on this thread wrong

But having gone two breaks down, Kyle gets himself going, plays less passively, Dan makes a couple of mistakes and it's back to 4-4

it was close but the 'doubters' on page 1 may well be right after all

Kyle takes the first set 7-5

Well done, Kyle - he really out-muscled Dan in that second set.

But Kyle's overheads have to be the worst seen at ATP level in living history - even he was laughing about them.

Unsurprisingly Kedders too good on the dirt in the end. If I was Evo I'd take a lot of positives out of that match though, could easily have nicked that 1st set and things might have been different.

Quite enjoyed that. I was a bit concerned about Kyle's form in the early stages but he looked impressive once he found his range with the fearhand even if not the overheads. Dan showing some promising clay court form as well.

Tempted to say that was a "smashing" victory by Kyle, having been "lobbed" into the deep end by Evo.

As always, pleased for Kyle but it is so hard to get too excited when it is an all GB tie. I guess that what we should be celebrating (and who would have expected this 3 years ago) is that we have had an all GB match at a Masters 1000 where two Brits played each other having got in purely on merit and NEITHER of them was called Andy Murray.

Well done Kyle - yes it was a shame it had to be vs a fellow Brit.
Now go get Rafa, please!!
