Shocking side. Deserve to go4 down

Thing is, there are 5 or 6 shocking sides.  Just hoping that there are 3 more 'shocking' than us.

Only good news is its Liverpool next week!

Yep.  We've beaten them once already smile

Seriously though, our three matches after that are Fulham, Leicester and Bournemouth.  Two wins out of those three and I think we'll be OK.

2 wins out of 2 needed now

Well, I am a Leeds fan, sort of - not like Bob is but I was brought up one and although I have seriously lapsed, they are still my closest PL team and the team I follow first after Harrogate results!

Being honest, I think we are heading down - Leicester, Everton, West Ham are all grinding out and seem to have more backbone, whereas we might be "exciting" but we have no solidity which you need at this time; I reckon we are down with Forest and Saints, sadly.

Hope am wrong though!

As an Everton fan wondering where the next win is coming from I would say, dont give up hope yet! I cant believe theres 1 team worse than us, never mind 3. Big game tonight mind.

The perils of Social Media:

There has been a complete storm in tea cup today over the Leeds players and their apparent disregard for a young fan while on their way to the match yesterday. A video has gone viral of the players walking passed the lad in the hotel lobby.

Then Sports Bible set the ball rolling with a carefully edited video and even Piers Morgan got involved, describing the players as "Selfish arrogant pr*cks". (Not like Piers Morgan to jump on a bandwagon eh ? wink )

The video can be seen here.

https://twitter.com/sportbible/status/1652763893138087937

Talk Sport have stuck their oar in too and even the tabloids have had a say.  Some Leeds fans have even started a campaign to make the lad a mascot in the next home game, to make up for the disappointment of his 'mistreatment' by the players and the club.

However, slowly but surely over the course of the day, the truth has come out.  Firstly, there was this tweet from the boys father.

https://twitter.com/MagnumDecorati1/status/1652992126353850368

Then, having been contacted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, he was finally able to tell the full story.  His son had a fantastic time, got some autographs, interacted with several players and was absolutely delighted. His dad described himself as 'gobsmacked' when the negative media was brought to his attention.

The full story can be read here.

Social media snapshots can be so dangerously misleading unless backed up by more substantive information.

The video was brought up by Steve Crossman in the Monday Night Club ( ie. tonight, well after the events ) on Radio 5 Live and he also read the players' statement. Although Micah Richards and Chris Sutton suggested sone mitigation re being in the zone and wouldn't deliberately ignore fans, the general feeling was that they would know the fans were there, should have taken more care and it was an awful look.

Ended with saying it looked as if Leeds were getting in touch with the particular kid's family and no doubt they would do something very nice for them.

However no reference at all to the rest of what you said Bob, the Yorkshire Post article, and in particular what the father has already said.

So it did seem poor not to be aware or referred to this  fuller picture. I did text them regarding this but anyone who did provoked no further comment on the matter.

Meanwhile , Big Sam could be coming in to Elland Road very soon!

From the Athletic - "Leeds United are considering appointing former West Ham and Everton boss Sam Allardyce, who had one game in charge of England, to succeed Javi Gracia as the club's manager. (Athletic - subscription required)"

A little bit of positive news as the U21s got promoted back to the top tier last night following a 3-0 win in the play off final against Forest.

3 year deal, presumably through the next World Cup in North America in 2026.

Good to see SW get through - they have been neck and neck with Plymouth and Ipswich all season, and only just missed out on automatic promotion.
