Andrea Radrizzani is gone. The San Francisco 49ers have now signed a deal to buy the remaining shares in the club - deal awaiting ratification from the EFL.

Overall, I think Radrizzani has been good for the club. We are certainly in a far better position than when he took over about 7 years ago, but it was time for change. His focus seems to have been elsewhere recently (the purchase of Sampdoria) and so a fresh start is needed.

Now we just need a manager, director of football and some new players.

Interesting times.

Very sad to hear today of the passing of Leeds and Scotland legend Gordon McQueen who has died at the age of 70.

really - sad. As a 14 year old boy, I had Gordon McQueen come with Joe Jordan to my local club were I played (Kirk Deighton Rangers) and hold a training session. He fell of his motorbike on the way across, on the M62, but still made sure he got there before it ended!

RIP you ex St Mirren and Scotland star.

So sad that so many of the great old Leeds sides have passed on in the last few years.

Mystic Bob strikes again.

OK. So for those who don't follow Leeds, we are currently going through a takeover which is being ratified (very slowly) by the EFL, but the new owners (the San Francisco 49ers) don't want to say anything until the deal is done.

Consequently there is an information vacuum around who our new manager will be and any potential incoming/outgoing players. This void is currently being filled by 'clickbait' merchants on social media who are basically making up a whole load of rubbish, just for clicks.

Their modus operandi is normally to start with "Leeds could be ............ ".

As I pointed out to some of our more gullible supporters, the word 'could' gives them carte blanche to write anything they want without being called liars. My tweet - posted yesterday - is here.

https://twitter.com/ExpatTennisFan/status/1674080194368356352

As an example, I used the sentence

"Elland Road 'could' be struck by an earthquake tomorrow - is a perfectly valid statement." After all, it COULD be.

And then this happens.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-66050598.amp

Note the phrase: "People as far away as Yorkshire ......... "

And so, for my next trick ..........  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Take over complete. The 49ers Enterprises are now the new owners of Leeds United.

Among the investors that form part of the consortium are:

Michael Phelps
Jordan Speith
Justin Thomas

along with several other NBA/NHL stars I have never heard of.

Decent article about the plans that the 49ers have for the future of Leeds.

Championship starts this evening. Time for a fresh start for Leeds. Farke giving his press conference today.

We have 3 centre forwards on our books - Bamford, Rutter, Joseph. They are all injured.

Same old, same old. It could be a very long season.

Sound bet.  We'll be fine.  I mean any team starting the first match of the season with 8 players out injured (9 if you count Dallas) is clearly well prepared.

Drameh - Firpo - Adams - Greenwood - Joseph - Bamford - Rutter - Harrison - Dallas

Apparently we only had 16 players fit to train today - and 3 of those were goalkeepers.

One to watch for us this season as a breakout star is Archie Gray.  Another play from the Gray dynasty.  Only 17 but will be in the starting XI on Sunday.

I am now more confident than ever of promotion this season.

In their history, Leeds have achieved promotion on 8 occasions - 6 of those 8 have happened in a Leap Year.

2024 anyone ?
