It appears that the LUFC family are about to lose another of their all time greats as Peter Lorimer enters a hospice with late stage brain cancer.

The have been too many departures in the last 12 months. So sad.

I remember my 2nd ever match at Elland Road, going to see Leeds play QPR. Lorimer scored a belter - corner came in from Mick Jones on the right, edge of the 18 yard box, Lorimer straight on the volley and boom, 200 mph at least , top right corner.

Hot shot.

Sad news to hear and all the best to him and his family that he is comfortable.

Really sad to here about Gordon McQueen and Peter Lorimer so many Scots in that team.

Lorimer he could kill a man with his shot!! I got the keepers autograph for Christmas (not joking)

Have to be honest a little bit nervous for the weekend no Grealish, Elmo at right back could be painful. Very pleased to have 36 points in the bag realistically I can see 36 being enough to survive again this year although only really breath easy at 40 points

No Grealish is an issue for you but don't forget, we could be without our entire centre middle field trio.  Our strongest three for CDM, Nš8 & Nš10 positions would be Phillips, Klich and Rodrigo. It has already been confirmed the Phillips and Rodrigo are out and we are waiting on Klich. He came off injured in the last game and is rated 50/50 for today. On top of that, our 1st choice backup in there has been Jamie Shackleton this season and he is out as well.

At least we now have some cover at CB with Llorente now fully fit and Struijk now having made the jump from U21s to the 1st team.

Pretty sure both teams are safe already though.  Fulham had made a bit of a run in the last week or so, but they have played a lot of the bottom teams. The vast majority of their remaining games are against top half teams, so I would be surprised if they make 35 points.

But like you, I will breath a little easier when we reach 40 points.

Football fans, eh

Supposedly St Mirren are in a battle to make the Scottish Premiership top 6 before the split. I've been counting every point ( and it has been bleedin point by point lately ) as a point further away from possible relegation!

It's going to take a 2nd half comeback.

I really hoped that by now, our new 300k pitch would have begun to settle down but it doesn't seem any better now than it did immediately after it was laid.  Just 6 more home games after this until we finally get it fully relaid over the summer.  Given there are no fans, I wouldn't mind playing those 6 matches at a neutral venue and starting the process now.

Not good enough in the final 3rd today and didn't trouble the goalkeeper at all. So well done Oakland. I will have to settle for a 3-1 aggregate victory this season. wink

Obviously I personally take full credit for todays win. Last season I was so frustrated by Targetts performances was desperate to replace him ... by far our most improved player. This year so frustrated by Nakamba & El Ghazi who both made big contributions today. What do I know.

Apparently Social Media is spreading inaccurate news. I should have guessed.

Sounds like Raphinha is enjoying himself at Leeds.

Wonderful player unfortunately he met his match in the mighty Elmo, Elmo has a special pocket in his shorts for Brazilians. A real fans favourite at Villa who should be available on a free in June. It will be interesting to see Man Citys plans for Jack Harrison, Leeds have done a good job of pushing up his price (unless you have a loan to buy deal) anything under 20 million I think would be a steal.

Harrison is on a loan to buy with the price already fixed at 10m.  It would have been 8m if we had bought at the start of this season but when we extended the loan spell, it went up to 10m.

Tough decision not then. I guess it was worth an extra 2 million to absolutely confirm this
