Laura is looking for another new coach according to the Times, after the short period with Maria's old hitting partner came to nothing.

Can't quite recall the coaching history but she seems to have chopped a changed a fair bit recently. Can't help matters I would have thought. Smacks a bit of looking outside rather than inside for answers to her problems.
IMO her wonderful first serve has not come through the wrist surgery unscathed and her current performances show how much she relied on it.
So on reflection perhaps a missed opportunity for Laura
One way of looking at it, although given her post-US Open form it seems doubtful that she would have been able to sustain a winning run throughout the week even if she had finished Eraydin off. Which she really should have from 4-1 up in the 3rd with 2 breaks. I suppose Eraydin winning the whole thing perhaps does offer a small crumb of comfort.
