I don't think Katie's movement is that much of an issue. It's not the best it could be but she's far better than Laura ever was. I also feel she's got a higher level she can get to there.

My 'concern' is her backhand which doesn't seem any better to what I saw 2/3 years ago. Yes she's been injured on and off but I would have expected development. In a lot of rallies that shot makes her go from in charge to on the defensive. Although I have seen her hit some cracking backhands on occasion.

I haven't seen her play since October where I felt she was one of the strongest players at that particular futures. Agreed she doesn't have the issues Laura has with movement but then neither did Kyle but we are talking high altitude goals ie. establishing oneself in the top 30 by 22/23 and then pushing on from there.

In that respect there is plenty of time to develop her backhand but essential that she is able to maintain momentum at the very least on the backhand side even if not a major weapon. The similarities with Kyle's game re expectations, mental fortitude and areas for development are quite striking. I hope she is getting similar mentoring, undoubtedly Andy has really helped Kyles progress.

Katie's QF win looks likely so far to push her current CH 338 up a few places on Monday week and will also take her into the GB top 10, moving ahead of Freya and Gabi ( and within a SF win of #9 Harriet ).

The young uns are coming with Jay also into the GB top 10 on Monday week ( in Katie's case I think it may be back into ).

I think her new total of 109 points is possibly only good for around WR350, just ahead of Freya, but short of Katie's CH. Needs to make the final for a new CH.

Katie is GB #8 in 2017 live points, and another win here would take her well past Ms. Robson in to 7th.
13-1 in MD in 2017 isn't too bad
14-4 overall, 77.78%, is second only behind Jo

Woops, I added her 18 points so far here to 91 and got 119 !

If you prefer 109 points then you may have fair points and she would need to win the title to overtake #9 Harriet.
