Boys & Girls: ITF Junior Cap d'Ail, France, clay - Grade 2 (Week 15)

The French spring circuit of G1/G2 events starts here, with Damian Rodriguez a late withdrawal seemingly. That leaves Jack Molloy and Ali Collins, both in action tomorrow (third and second on) with live scoring at  http://www.tennisticker.de/fra/sb.html?tournid=3084

Boys R1 (L32)

Jack Molloy v Clement Tabur (FRA)

Girls R1 (L32)

Ali Collins v Loudmilla Bencheikh (FRA)

Loudmilla is a year younger than Ali and won the French National Championships, Under 16, last year (beating Clara Burel along the way, Ali's conqueror from last week).

However, she's had a rather mixed year so far this year (and Anna Loughlan beat her last October)

Clément is also a year younger than Jack, with a decent-ish profile, losing in the quarters of the nationals: he was top seed but doesn't quite have the wow factor about him as far as the media are concerned that some his contemporaries have.

Good stuff. Very well turned round

In reaching the QFs here Ali matches and defends her current highest counter of 50 points from this week last year. Might as well start adding now ...

Unfortunately it wasn't for Jack and Simon as they lost 7-6 6-3 .... Great effort getting to the final nevertheless.
