Yay, well done that man  biggrin

62% first serves in in the second set and the two he served in the final game brought two simple points to help ease him to the line.

As well as a 3rd challenger title in 5 weeks with 2 in successive weeks ( 10 wins in a row ) the final was his 10th win against a top 100 ranked player this year as against 5 losses. Against top 50 players he is 3-3.

Looks like he is up to WR 69 and race #31 - just easing ahead of one Daniel Evans who is #32.

He is good enough to compete at tour level despite what people on here say

Just think what might have been, had he been available to play for Team GB last weekend!  hmm

Well, he wouldn't have won back-to-back Challengers in a row (the first Brit to manage that this century, though others have made successive Challenger finals but have come out with a win and a loss or have won two Challengers in three weeks) and be 2nd Brit in the ATP Race wink but yes ... and he's done brilliantly to make the best of what has happened. I imagine even the wrong outcome is better for his state of mind (and amount of sleep) than the constant uncertainty earlier this year before the appeal judgement.

He has a great compact game, he can do everything 7/10, he has no weaknesses. With no major weaknesses he can mop up on the challenger tour, but on the main tour and to be top 20 you need a major weapon. I think top 30 would be great for him.

I don't disagree - top 30 is a good target.
But I'm not sure that Gilles Simon has a 'major weapon'. Nor Goffin. Nor many of 'those' sort of players who made top 20. Not in the way that most people think of a major weapon.
I'm not saying Bedene will compete with them but top 50 or so makes a very decent living, and is a very good achievement. Top 30 is even better. And consistency will take you a very long way.

Hang on, start of the week he wasn't good enough for the ATP tour now he can be top 30? Make your mind up.
