But good to get that far. Don't know the QF opponents for Farris Gosea+, but the Halebian/Shane pairing is manifestly underranked. They're a former? present? University of Virginia team, and Ryan Shane was a national champion a year or two ago.
I could be wrong on this, but think that of our main doubles players who did not go to university (which distorts the age/rankings relationship), Luke Bambridge is ahead of every player barring Jamie Murray in terms of ranking for age. He ties roughly with Colin Fleming - whose playing career is a little different as he's the one major player to have attended a UK university. Joe Salisbury and the Skupskis would probably have been alongside or ahead had they not attended university, and Dom Inglot's post-university rise was so rapid that he almost certainly would have been more highly ranked by 22 had he started earlier.
But that whole cluster of doubles playing 22-24 year olds (Scott Clayton, Jonny O'Mara, Luke Bambridge, Liam Broady, Lloyd Glasspool) feels as if it has real potential ... which is good in that unless our DC players emulate Nestor and Zimonjic in playing forever, sooner or later, we're going to need new DC pairings.
