Woohoo indeed!! Well done Dom! He seems such a nice guy and to have had such trouble getting a regular partner that I am more than delighted every time he has some success.

I can confirm that from when he sorted me out with a complementary ticket for Day 3 at Roland Garros a few years back. And it especially great to see him getting results on the red stuff.

Couldn't agree more. Probably a bit satisfying for him that Mergea didn't get through to final as well. Although he's probably too nice to think that!!!
I have also heard very positive things about Dom alturistic stuff around making sure fans had a great time when he would have been perfectly within his rights to focus on enjoying himself.
Well done Dom, v pleased. Have he and Mergea definitely split (again) then? It was always a car crash move I felt, so hope he moves on now to someone more akin to his style (of game and personality). Mergea always felt quite arrogant and demanding although I have no basis on which to say that beyond perception!
I did read that Mergea does want to give it a real go with Dom again but they are taking some time apart so that Dom can get his ranking up as they could not make the cut at Masters level together. Remains to be seen if Dom can climb the rankings enough to satisfy Mergea or whether he would even want to team up again if he gets on a roll with a different partner.
At least in the short term 150 points here for reaching the final has almost covered the 180 Dom has coming off on Monday from his QF ( partnering Andy ) in last year's Monte Carlo Masters ( it was a week earlier last year ).
Surely he's going to asking Pavic if he'd like to hang out a little longer. Doesn't sound like there was any good in that Mergea situation.
I may have misheard, but I thought I heard one of the DC commentators last weekend say he was going to be playing with Robin Haase for the rest of this season. Happy to be proved wrong after this week's performance...
