Bedene has done what he needed to do, he has really vultured/ flat track bullied these challengers. Will we see Edmund drop back down to the chal tour>>
I think vultured is rather inaccurate considering the opposition at both of these events. Aljaz was seeded 4th here and was not seeded at all at Irving where he beat top 50 players starting in the first round. I know he is not your favorite player but try and be a little more objective.

Cetainly not for the foreseeable and hopefully not at all.
Kyle is WR 47 and has generally been on a pleasingly consistent upward path. Just because he has not had the greatest of starts to 2017, although very good at times against good players, doesn't lead yet remotely towards challengers. Especially just entering the clay season, to be followed by the grass season.
Indeed from previous challenger discussions, I understand that as long as he is a top 50 player Kyle can't routinely enter a challenger, but may be able to take a WC. But I really don't see it on the agenda anyway.
What I think is that Edmund used to have the surprise factor, I feel this year people are watching tapes etc prior to matches and keeping it away from his forehand.

Yes, I just find the whole Bedene things rather odd and cannot get excited by his results.
I have no problem with people gaining nationality either by parent or by naturalization, and then representing that nation, but he can not even do that. For me, he is just the same a James Blake or Dustin Brown (I think both have British passports). Yes he may have the flag next to his name but if he cannot represent, it means nothing.

Clearly in Aljaz's case he has gained nationality through naturalisation and it is hardly for the want of wishing or trying that he currently cannot represent the country that he feels has given him a lot, the ITF changing the rules re representation when his nationality procedure was already under way. His failure to be in possesion of a crystal ball was a huge failing on his part.
The draw did appear to work out well as he moved through before meeting the #1 seed in the final, although of course you are still playing winning players.
Paire joins Lorenzi as top 40 players he has beaten in recent challenger runs, his unseeded run in the Irving super challenger also containing two further wins against top 100 players.

Of course, I attach no blame to him re the crystal ball. But just that myself and the wider public cannot get excited by his results. I mean look at Greg, his mother was from Yorkshire, and he even was able to play DC but still struggled to win over public. What hope does this lad have?
That I feel is more our collective issue than Aljaz's though of course he would no doubt welcome as much support as he could get.
For me, I accept that naturally I would think most people will have favourites and those we have followed for many years are more likely to be so. Indeed I have seen a once much more regular poster given unfortunate grief from an apparently "I support all Brits equally" poster for not supporting Aljaz as much as others, while pretty much explaining his support in these terms. Personally I don't support all Brits equally but generally wish them all to have success, especially facing non Brits.
