That's a good, if not unexpected, win. This would be a very interesting doubles pairing if it continued - two of the best university players of their 'generation' joining together.

 Because he's been playing singles qualies every week so doesn't want to miss qualies for the next week plus he's probably struggling to make the cut in some challengers.

To be fair, Lloyd and Mackenzie is an extremely robust pairing, Mackenzie is one of a few double NCAA champions, doubles and singles. Blaz Rola knocked out both relatively recently for Ohio State.

The one doubles and singles winner in modern times that stands out for me and arguably the best all round male college tennis player in the last 20 years (Isner was never an NCAA singles champion) is Bob Bryan!
