Well done! I actually thought Bellis was the better player from start to finish but Naomi just served so well today she took the match out of Bellis' hands. Backhand looked more solid today but forehand was poor.
Bellis played one bad service game in each set, and that was it. Credit to Naomi for taking advantage and playing a sharp tiebreak.
Really chuffed for her. Tough one next against most likely Babos but the courts and conditions are quick and if she serves as well as that who knows!
With 17 Aces, 1 DF, that goes in at #5 in the WTA list of most aces in a match in 2017; though given it's only from 2 sets, it might arguably be the best serving performance by any player on the WTA this year.
Naomi's 30 points will just replace 30 points dropped from last year, so she's still around WR120, just ahead of Heather. A further win against Babos/qualifier woldn't improve her ranking much, but making the semis would see her to around WR108, and certain to make the GS main draws.

Just checking that, Naomi now fills 3 of the top 6 'most aces in a match' slots ... but this is the only one of those three matches she has actually won!
