Pleased Sam doing well so early, though always frustrating to have served for the set twice and had a set point. Podoroska has been struggling with injury, and this was her first win of the year in only her fourth tournament of the season (excluding Fed Cup). If Sam had been just a little match tighter she'd have won that I'm sure.
Is staying in Mexico for an ITF event next week and hopefully she can start to pick up the wins.
Tara is only 94 singles points away from being GB number 2. Naomi now has that title As Heather continues to fall. The serving stats are terrible I'd say almost embarrassing really. Basically if the 1st serve didn't go in it was either a double or point lost. That's not 150ranked tennis that's for sure.
More than half her points come from Eastbourne ITF, Notts and Wimbledon.
She needs to be picking up these high teen, low 20 scores when she gets such good opportunities to give her a bit of a cushion if she can't replicate what she did last summer or else she's gonna be in a bit of trouble. Coming up to a difficult time of year for her as well, but she's down for a run of the high Green Clay challengers in the States. Maybe she can pick up some wins there.
