Today, in the 400th completed match involving a Brit lady in 2017, Harriet was not 5-2 down in set 2, she was 5-2 up. But it was Gabi who staged the epic comeback.
That means Harriet is 0-3 against Brit's on the Australian tour.

R16: Harriet DART (GBR) 331 lost to Gabriella TAYLOR (GBR) 363 7-6(1) 6-7(5) 2-6

QF: Gabriella TAYLOR (GBR) 363 v. Olivia TJANDRAMULIA (AUS) 488 (CH 361, Oct. 2016)
> H2H 1-0
> 2017 Mildura, Australia - ITF $25K - Grass - OT(Q) - R32 - Taylor by 3-6 6-3 6-1

Gabi has lots of points to defend, so that win is a bonus and looks a decent QF draw.

Great R1 win for Gabi :D
Bad luck for Harriet to keep meeting Brits recently.
Hopefully Gabi can go a lot deeper here now :)

That's a massive doubles win for Gaby and her partner Abbie Myers. There is more than a 750 points differential - their doubles rankings are 637 and 378 respectively, whilst their opponents, the #2 seeds are 196 and 48!

L16: Abbie Myers (AUS) and Gabriella Taylor (GBR) (378 & 637) beat (2) Julia Glushko (ISR) and Barbora Krejcikova (CZE) (196 and 48) 7-5 1-6 10-8
QF: Abbie Myers (AUS) and Gabriella Taylor (GBR) (378 & 637) vs (WC) Lorbergs, Genevieve (AUS) and Mendez, Seone (AUS) (515 and 1026)

Much easier QF components for Gaby and Abbie...

Gabi continued her good day, but Harriet & Katy's weeks got no better (albeit it was unlikely to, against the strong top seeds)
R16: Dart/Dunne (GBR/GBR) 753 lost to Moore/Wonteanchai (AUS/THA) [1] 206 2-6 2-6

Never read much into doubles results at this level. Money is little incentive and players sometimes have other agendas.

Not really bad luck as with a few exceptions the Brits' form in Australia has been poor.

This match could add 66% more points to Gabi's points haul for the week, *0-1

Gabi has to get beyond the semis to add points this fortnight (she's defending 24 qualifying + SF points from a 25K+H in Irapuato last year) but she's certainly giving it a good go - Tjandramulia won the 1st set but Gabi is now an early break up in the 3rd 2-6 6-4 2-0*

Goodness, Gabi served for that at 5-4 and then again at 6-5 and the tie-break wasn't 100% convincing either.

But very good way to guts out a win, whatever. Well done.

It's almost a carbon copy of her last match. Two breaks in the 1st set both against Gabi, 3 breaks in the 2nd set and 8 breaks in the 3rd.
