Unfortunately meeting the #1 seed at the QF stage three weeks in a row has helped severely limited Jay's points collection in two of these weeks and delayed his next mark of entering the top 400.
But the good part is how he has competed with top 300 players in these three QF matches, winning ( and the whole tournament ), losing in the third set 7-5 and losing in the third set 7-6.
Or, to use a similar but slightly different statistic, in today's U19 live rankings, he's 7th, following on from Casper Ruud, Denis Shapovalov, Alex de Minaur, Daniel Altmaier, Duck-hee Lee, and FAA. That's not bad company. And he's done it without the WCs into high-stakes tournaments that some young players have. It will be interesting to see how things proceed from here.
