Week 12 - Turkey F11 ($15,000) - Antalya (hard)

QR1:  Samuel Ferguson WR 1765 (CH = 1517 last September) vs Alejo Vilaro (ARG) WT 1407 (CH = 1393 last December)

QR1:  Curtis Clarke UNR (CH = 1518 in September 2015) vs Maxim Bulat (MDA) UNR

Jay should, of course, be in the main draw & conceivably seeded.

Jay is in the top seed's quarter for the third week in a row. It's a Pole though this time rather than Vaclav Safranek, who seems to be giving it a miss.

Safranek having narrowly beaten Jay in Week 11 has gone on to succeed him as Turkey winner.

He has such great consistency: I went back to check, and barring his foray to Shrewsbury, he has not lost in the first round since October last year. Leaving out that one instance, it's been: QF, W, QF, SF, SF, QF, W, W, QF, SF, SF (working backwards) since the start of November. That's hugely impressive from a young player.

That's a result where it's worth pointing out the updated rankings - Jay is WR 420 this week.

Good point re consistency. That run has put Jay on 99 points and in the top 10 players not yet 19. A great run, a rank of 294 (169 points) easily attainable by winning at futures level gets him in the top 20 not yet 20.

That consistency is really exciting, particularly if he can do it in some slightly tougher futures and he's looking set to do that with some good wins over higher ranked players.

Top 200 as a teenager really needs north of 290 points still attainable by dominating on the futures tour but a dam site easier with a few deep runs in challengers and then we are really cooking and chasing over 550 points and on the cusp of the top 100.

Great progress setting really solid foundations for further progress.
