Aljaz saves two match points in the second set tie break and ends up winning it 8-6.

One set all, 4-6 7-6(6)

Aljaz came back from *2-5 and 4-6* (2 MPs) down in the TB to take it 8-6.

No breaks in the second set and neither on a great overall BP conversion rate. Aljaz 1/11 ( the first 6 BPs in that initial break he had ) and Bellucci 2/10.

Over 2 hours so far ...

Aljaz goes 1/13 on BP conversions after missing out on 2 in an 18 point opening game of the final set.

*0-1

That was a horrifically bad final set from Bellucci, but I'm sure Aljaz won't mind the donation.

Aljaz wins 4-6 7-6(6) 6-1

Served out another game to love while winning at least 14 points in a row and broke again to take the match.

L16: (ALT) Aljaz Bedene WR 105 beat Thomaz Bellucci (BRA) WR 71 4-6 7-6(6) 6-1

Either Donaldson or Tiafoe next, which is in the middle of the first set.

Yes, I had a brief look when that points run was going and Bellucci looked all over the place. Fine with me

Excellent win for Aljaz, hope he can keep it up for another round or maybe three!

Next round should be easier on paper, I am pretty sure Aljaz beat Donaldson at this event last year in either the quarters or semis. Aljaz definitely seems to enjoy playing here.

QF: (Alt) Aljaz Bedene WR 105 v Jared Donaldson (USA) WR 93(CH 91 in Feb)

H2H 1-0 - theemptyvessel is right, their only previous meeting was in last year's semis here, when Aljaz, then ranked 51 and seeded 4, beat Donaldson, then ranked 158, 4 & 3. There were almost as many break points in that match as there were in the match against Bellucci today (26 today)
