And in the depths of the singles draw Djokovic eases past Del Potro in 3 sets and that bottom quarter moves on to Nadal vs Federer and Kyrgios vs Djokovic.
... while the epic top quarter ultimately has reduced to Carreno Busta vs Cuevas, and that's Pablo not Martin Cuevas. So at least it will be between two seeds

[...] the biggest beneficiaries could be Kontinen & Peers who will go WR 1 & 2 respectively if they reach the final.
Hmm... They have to get past Gilles Müller & the mighty Sam Q first, then NoDjo & Troicki or Klaasen & Ram (6)!
Really surprised to see the NoDjo/Troicki win.
Indeed and oops, Muller and Querrey win in a MTB and Mahut will remain WR 1 though Kontinen and Peers will go up to WR 2 & 3 respectively and again well positioned for Miami ( 0 to defend against 1,000 for Herbert & Mahut ).
I really fear for Andy Murray, the ATP this year have clearly made an effort to speed the game up, anybody that thinks otherwise is blind.
This year net chancers, or net del boys, or net rushers, call them what you wish, have bamboozled Murray, and I feel the word is out, also, that German Kohl should have beaten him too.
Agreed, at IW, Pop was anwful draw, great serve, great net play, so if he plays well you can be in trouble.
Not seeing any conspiracy here. Andy was out of sorts in Australia and quite possibly already feeling the onset of symptoms from his recent bout with shingles. Indian Wells, just look at his record, he does not like the courts there and at almost 30 years old that is probably not going to change.
Hey Bob, your man PCB not doing to badly for himself these days, into Masters semi and will be top 20 singles and doubles
I was watching some of his match yesterday on Sky Sports and thinking back to that match v Kyle all those years ago. His serve out wide on the deuce court is still a big weapon.
Whoever wins the doubles semi will meet Klaasen and Ram in the final. Really happy for them. They were defending nothing here, but a final in Miami. This rather takes the pressure off. Their wins do suggest that the courts may be somewhat faster than usual, though: they don't tend to do well on slow courts.
And on another note, I'd been thinking along the same lines, Wolf! Who would have thought when Bob's Bustawatch started ....

Kygrios has withdrawn from his match with Roger, so Fed will be extending his lead in the race rankings this week. Very early days of course but (Murray aside) I'd truly love to see him back at the top of the tree!
