Great news that Katie B, Katie S and Mandy will all be on new career highs once this week's points have gone on; feel like 2017 is really starting to roll for them.
Top 250 here they come! :)
Kuzmova is a good player. Junior GS finalist and doubles winner and has won 3 x 10k and a 25k on the main tour. She also beat Katie Swan comfortably at Wimbledon juniors.
Ummm ... Steven I think you are being influenced by too much Fox News!
Congratulations indeed to Katie who must be chuffed to bits doing so well after a prolonged period of injury
Now for the Trump(petting) hyperbole. And I know you know the answer! Would Noppowan be the best example of a failed transition of junior rank and JG success at either Wimbledon or the US Open into senior rank in the face of prolonged persistence??
She would be the female Felip Peliwo. Much though I admire them both for their persistence!
Still trying to find the factual inaccuracy in the post you're referring to (I've successfully avoided Fox News over here so far - it helps not having a TV! - but I assume factual inaccuracies are what you're referring to) - I'm well aware that Noppowan hasn't fulfilled her potential in seniors but the fact she won junior Wimbledon suggests grass may be her best surface and it was Katie who provided any hyperness (I know that's not a real word ) by thrashing her so mercilessly

I had completely missed the fact it was on grass! I didn't realise anywhere else had a grass court season so a pleasant surprise, so agreed, beating a junior Wimbledon champion is more relevant.
Although I've not seen Noppowan play, after a bit of fact checking, I understand her game is not really suited to grass despite her junior success. Her ground strokes although consistent lack power and her serve a major weakness hence the breadsticks and bagels.

A very good week did not become a superb one.
Next step, consistency at this level. However, Katie isn't one of those staying on for the 2 $25K in Mornington (greater Melbourne), the weeks commencing 20th & 27th March; waiting instead on $60K's or the $25K in Kofu, Japan. Even excepting this week, she's had the best outcome of this tour group, and hopefully, that form can be maintained & developed next time out.
If one of this group can really kick on, say just inside the top 200, they may just pull others from their peer group along with them. Let Katie be the vanguard!
F: Katie BOULTER (GBR) 349 lost to Viktoria KUZMMOVA (SVK) 194 2-6 4-6
Though she didn't win the title, this is a huge milestone for Katie, as it should take her into the top 300; so if she ever gets injured again, she won't be starting again from UNR, or at least will have a PR to get her back competing at 25k level as soon as she feels ready. So she has a really solid foundation of a pro career.
65 of her current 144 points were won on grass; so I think it likely that she will now get a generous allocation of the wildcards to the UK 100ks/WTA tournaments in the summer.
