The world No 1 has grown up a bit - plenty of potential for tantrums in that match but pretty well behaved I thought and some absolutely amazing shots in that tie break - one at the most insane angle almost round the net post !!!

In the match to decide Andy's semi-final opponent, Donskoy, the qualifier who did for Roger the Lodger in the previous round, is now giving Lucas Pouille (7) a run for his money: one set all & the Russian has just come back from *0-3 to level at 4-4*!
QF: (1) Andy Murray WR 1 defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber (ESP) WR 29 by 6-7(4) 7-6(18) 6-1
*****
SF: (1) Andy Murray WR 1 vs (7) Lucas Pouille (FRA) WR 15 (= CH)
Pouille's QF match finished at getting on for 02.00 local time. Pouille eventually subdued Donskoy by 7-6(2) in the decider. Wonder if that's why Andy's match was the first of the "afternoon" session.
The head-to-head is 3-0 in Andy's favour, all wins last year & all in straight sets (Paris (L16), Shanghai (L16) & Rome Masters (SF)).
And with Kyrgios beating Djokovic in the Acapulco QF Andy's incredible win will have him at least a further 90 points clear at WR 1. 1895 points and counting both here and whatever Indian Wells and Miami must surely add for last year's double IW & Miami L32 loser over last year's double IW and Miami champion.
Amazing save in that second set. It's not often you save 7MPs in a match and come back to win. Djokovic-esque. Although of course Andy does have prior experience of similar situations from those successive matches against Robredo in 2015, if memory serves.
