Another disappointing week. Katy made such a good start as well to her match, but lost 6 of the next 7 games.

QF: Dart/Dunne (GBR/GBR) 781 lost to Bai/Sema (AUS/JPN) [3] 478 6-4 4-6 [6-10]

At this juncture, will settle for just any two singles wins in Mildura next week

 To be fair to Katy, 16yo Destanee is a bit of a phenom and would be ranked higher if age restriction rules had allowed her to play full time in the seniors.

R16: Katie BOULTER (GBR) 348 defeated Ya-Hsuan LEE (KOR) 261 6-4 6-4

QF: Katie BOULTER (GBR) 348 v. Marketa VONDROUSOVA (CZE) 269 (=CH, 17 yo, JCH 1)
> H2H 2-1* - Seniors 0-1
> 2017 Stuttgart-Mannheim, Germany - ITF $15K - Hard, Indoor - R16 - Vondrousova by 6-1 6-3
> 2014* Roehampton, UK - G1 - Grass - KB [12], MV [8] - R16 - Boulter by 6-2 3-6 6-1
> 2014* Nonthaburi, Thailand - G1 - Hard - KB [1], MV [12] - QF - Boulter by 7-6(5) 7-5
* Junior results

When they played in Stuttgart-Mannheim, back on the 19th January, Katie was WR 361, Vondrousova was WR 420.
Since then, the Czech has won a $15K (that German one), a $25K, and made the final of another $25K.
She is now WR 269, and the higher ranked player. Katie having improved 13 places in the same period, to Marketa's 151.

Maybe a bit tough to mark Katie against Marketa

Anyway, as for Katie herself, with 9 points ( net 7 ) added here she is up to 115 points for the 20/03 post Indian Wells rankings with any further wins this week ( tough ! ) or next week adding to these points. 115 points should have her back to around her February 2015 CH 340 attained just after she began her injury period out, not playing ITFs for over a year from January 2015 to February 2016.

Now with a full year of ranking points, having started from scratch again pointswise, she has basically matched that total in the year before she was injured. Not all been smooth, but it's a pretty decent effort. I am pretty confident that if she stays injury free, and with good support, she can now push on and rise a lot further. Certainly she has had a number of very decent recent wins so encouraging stuff.
