On to the doubles ...

R1: Luke Bambridge & Alex Lawson (USA) CR 492 (190+302) vs (WC) Mauricio Astorga & Manuel Sanchez (MEX/MEX) CR 1382 (726+656)

23 yo Lawson, at his CH, is not a name I am familiar with, as a previous partner for Luke or otherwise. I see though that his pro circuit activity only effectively really started in June last year, very doubles orientated for results. Ex-college boy I assume ?

Notre Dame.  Graduated in the summer.  Dubs semi finalist at the NCAAs

.....in reply to Indi's question regarding Luke's dubs partner.  Typed this ages ago and clearly didn't press post...

The Yanks put out the Chilean third seeds, Jarry & Podlipnik, by 3 & 4 in the first round.  hmm

Sadly, Withrow gets his revenge for that defeat in singles qualies:

Rather expected that. Krajicek is a very good doubles player. I remember a few years back when the Bryans were asked what 'young' doubles players might be coming up behind them. Krajicek was one they mentioned - Neal Skupski was the other: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/other-sport/tennis/liverpool-tennis-star-neal-skupski-6325763
