... and while good to be 8th ranked and so seeded, Kyle appears to have drawn the 9th ranked player here, i.e. the highest ranked non seed. Mannarino can be variable but certainly could be problematic.
So actually potentially pretty tough from the get go. Will bother about the QF if and when he hopefully gets there though yes Raonic on form is the stand out player here.
Actually possibly not. I initially had quickly looked at rankings, but I see that the 7th seed ( also in the top half ) is Del Potro.

One further peculiarity of this draw is that you potentially don't want to draw a qualifier. The top three seeds in qualifying are Steve Darcis, Hyeon Chung, and Vasek Pospisil ... the first of whom would have been close to being seeded had he been in the main draw.

Fantastic isn't it, the rarefied atmosphere in which Kyle now works! Not a tournament I have really paid much attention to in the past, are they slow ( as in Indian Wells) or fast courts.
To deviate from the main theme but Florida has a large number of green clay courts, lovely to play on, the best surface I think personally for avoiding wear and tear on your body but there doesn't appear to be a tournament on the main tour on this surface.
Oh, I had to leave the screen for a minute and came back and the match seemed to be terminated early ? There had been a dispute about a line call at 5 -0 I think.
