Davis Cup 2017 World Group QF - France v Great Britain - Rouen - 7-9 April

Realistically, Evo's chances of winning either of his matches aren't good, which puts a lot pressure on Kyle & our doubles team given their opposition. This is going to be a big ask.

French news reporting that Noah is likely to name Lucas Pouille, Gilles Simon, Nicolas Mahut et Pierre-Hugues Herbert

They were right.

PS: I meant Mr Evans or Mr Norrie as the last member of the team - assumed Kyle Edmund was there! And think Dan Evans makes the most sense ... even on clay.

Good luck to all.

According to Le Parisien, the genesis is that JWT's father had wanted to call JWT 'Ray Sugar' in tribute to the boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, but JWT's mother vetoed it. One generation later .... www.leparisien.fr/laparisienne/actu-people/yannick-noah-revele-par-erreur-le-prenom-du-fils-de-jo-wilfried-tsonga-28-03-2017-6803802.php

At any rate, all the best to child and parents. May they know every joy.

Dreadful name... but if it keeps him out of the squad I'm all for it.

I recall that in 2015 Gilles Simon made a few remarks about GB's supposed one man Davis Cup team.

Be great if some other men rise to the occasion !

No.  See Spectator's post above for the explanation.

Maybe for them it would be like us calling a kid Sucre, not quite the same impact as 'Sugar'.

I saw that, but was sort of implying what Helen articulated - in France mayhap having the name Sugar may be considered less peculiar than Sucre.
