Yup that is appalling. I didn't realise Annie was expecting baby number 2. Congratulations!

The casual racism is, as it always is, dire - and rightly under investigation. But I'm fascinated that the ITF doesn't seemed to have commented on the actions/comments in re: Anne Keothavong, which are more directly relevant to the tie. A host captain behaving towards the opposing captain as Nastase did to Anne Keothavong is highly inappropriate - and would, to my mind, deserve censure. Is the message of the ITF that you can't be a racist, but that it's OK to behave inappropriately towards women? The former is a good message to send; the latter is a decidedly odd message to be sending in the middle of the Fed Cup.

Can Ms Keothavong - and others in her position - handle boorish comments and actions? Yes, of course. Should she or they have to do so? No.

Well said.

Each of the pictures of him from the venue do make him look somewhat drunk. No excusing of course, but what has possessed Romania to choose him? The guy is clearly a nightmare. From the top of my head, Tim Henman beat a Romanian in the final of the Paris Masters, I'm sure that he would do a better job. In fairness, Frank Spencer would probably do a better job.

Eleanor Crooks @EleanorcrooksPA

Seems Nastase's job could be on the line. He's just come into the press room and repeatedly called me stupid

Teams are out. Coverage on BT Sport 2 (and elsewhere no doubt). Just seen a close up of Phil the Hat

In this country we're very PC, but it hasn't filtered to all other countries yet.
A close friend was driving for a mobility charity yesterday, and got asked twice where she was from due to the colour of her skin. (Her English is perfect having been born here). She said it was like being slapped and left vulnerable as she's had racism since she was a child. This sort of stuff should not be condoned by the ITF's lack of public beration.

Opening ceremony quite a moving occasion. Good luck to both teams - hope it is a great occasion for all.

Hev needs to bring the Fed cup cheer team to every one one of her matches. Playing some really good stuff so far.

Tricky conditions with the wind - both breaks of serve from the camera end, but Hev survived in the last game. Looks confident
Drop shot, lob, drop shot winning combination
