Emily Appleton  is the only British representative at this Grade A, and has a reasonably friendly round 1 draw (playing tomorrow). Overall the strength of the event has been enhanced by the arrival of two more top ten ranked players, Amanda Anisimova and Amina Anshba

According to the tournament website Emily had a bit of a struggle today, with the Brazilian having chances in both sets. Emily beat her round 2 opponent in 3 sets last week.

Emily's round 3 opponent lost to the eventual winner last week, and was just edged out by Fran Jones in the Paraguay G1.
