Good win for Alicia against Sarah Lee. I'm sure it wasn't a cakewalk but she has gateaux be pleased with that result.

Thought you were being optimistic but it's looking maybe far from it smile

Eden lost in 3 as did Laura S in a final set tie break.
Lauryn won in 3.

Beth didn't get in direct so needed a wildcard.

Cameras set up for tomorrow on court 1 and 2

Alicia won easily her opponent was very average. First time I've seen Alicia and I don't see too much to indicate she will get any more than a handful of points per season.
First time I've seen Laura Saintsbury and I was surprised how good a player she is. Big serve, aggressive game and hit a lot of winners. Laura could fly up the rankings. Very unlucky to lose.
Jodie was well up in the first set before a huge wobble when she was making mistake after mistake. However once she got a break up in the second, she just about held on. Her opponent was excellent.
Lauryn when she is good she is very good, but a bit up and down today. Could and probably should have won in two, but was the better player and deserved to win.
Eden had a tight first match, but then her opponent stepped up and moved her all over the court and could stay with her.

Reasonable main draws for our girls given we have no seeds.

Still some tough matches in prospect. But I reckon there is a chance of 6 out of 9 Brits winning through, although even three would be good.

Excluding Byes, GB women are 100-101, YTD. Let's hope they can edge above .500.

 3 would be good.

Obviously 1 is guaranteed,  Jodie and Eleanor would be best chances if they are at their best. Suzy and Lauryn outside chances. The others slim.
