Wouldn't be really bothered at all about a very possible mandatory zero ( incidentally a first qualifying round loss wouldn't be a mandatory zero, just main draw WC R1 losers get mandatory zeros, losing at whatever stage in qualifying does not produce a mandatory counter ). Even if Marcus competes extensively and successfullly enough to be one of the very few Brits to have a full set of counters his otherwise 18th best would no doubt be relatively small.
As to the general merits of Slam MD WCs I'm saying nothing ... well other than while we are where we are and likely to remain for the foreseeable I certainly see the case for Marcus for Wimbledon.

On the first, noted (though I had to check!): that's why I specified mandatory vis a vis the MD only. And fair point about the 18 counters. Horses for courses on one's opinion on this one, I suspect.
Wow are you there tomorrow Bob I am coming up so be good to meet
I wish. Currently in Brazil. Wish Marcus good luck from me.

Can't be many people in Brazil who wish they were in Shrewsbury!!
I wasn't thinking so much about the geography to be honest. It was more, Work or Tennis, Tennis or Work. Work or Tennis, Tennis or Work. Only one winner in that regard.
Still these 10 points for the week will take Marcus up close to the top 400 on Monday week, odds that he will be just outside. He will be up to GB #10.
Has nothing to defend until a few from Wimbledon Time to be pushing on and taking out his CH 322 from 2014.
It is a pity although in the few tournaments that marcus has played his win ratio and points per tournament are excellent and he's in excellent physical shape be nice to see him push on from here and I sure he's capable of a good run when regularly back on tour
