I can't get out of my mind last week's linking of Saffron Dowse to an upmarket spa treatment.

C'mon young Saffron, may your tennis soon do the talking.

Wondering if it's just possible that Tanysha got a MD wildcard? If she's at the academy, it's just possible. Also possible that she got one from the pre-quali tournament?

NB Great idea by Rafa to do the pre-quali tournaments.

(For both the two men's and two women's ITF tournaments)

-WINNER: WC FOR THE MAIN DRAW SINGLES AT THE NEXT WEEK ITF + ONE WEEK
PROGRAM AT RAFA NADAL ACADEMY

RUNNER UP: WC FOR THE MAIN DRAW DOUBLES AT THE NEXT WEEK ITF + 50%
DISCOUNT AT ONE WEEK PROGRAM AT RAFA NADAL ACADEMY

Only costs the academy players 15 euros to enter (30 euros for other players).

Great idea.

Well, I called Tanysha's wildcard correctly (still wonder whether it was a pre-quali win one, or a normal discretionary one).

But she gets the third seed in the MD which is a bit tough......

Tiff won her QR2 match but lost the FQR match in two sets.

Tanysha has a doubles wildcard too

No, Mlle. Yerolymos, you may not have a double bagel.

That's a harsh scoreline given she had 10 break points and lost several games which went to deuce. Deserved a few more games than she got.

Ah pity. Much as I love the tennis scoring system ( the proper version as opposed to the tour doubles version ) you do sometimes get what look like right royal pastings that in fact have had loads of close games.

Certainly with no less than 10 BPs etc that is really harsh, even though the creating of opportunities and then trying to take / defend such opportunities is part of what I really like about the system.

Thanks for the added context, Paul.
