GRASS SEASON WILD CARDS!

so about time we discussed our annual topic.

This season will really be tough, as we have such limited amount of players in the 100-250 area.  I also will presume, Murray, Evo and Edmund require no wc

Queens, MD WC- Bedene (if needed) and Norrie

QWC to Klien, Glasspool and Clarke

Eastbourne MD WC Bedene (if needed) and Norrie

QWC  Klien, Glasspool and Clarke

Wimbledon

MD WC to Bedene (If needed) Norrie

QWC  Klien, Glasspool and Clarke and maybe J.Ward

Broady, Corrie and Alex Ward would also be under consideration for wildcards and I'm pretty sure Marcus Willis will get a Wimbledon wildcard and Jonny O'Mara will surely get a qualifying wildcard after missing out last year.

I hope you mean Qualifying wildcards and not main draw??? Willis deserves a QWC at best, and maybe O'Mara too.  About time we got tough on main draw WC.

Nope - Marcus will get a Wimbledon main draw wildcard after last year.

For the other ATP - all the wildcards should go to Brits and it depends who chooses which schedule i.e challenger v ATP

Willis got lucky and exposed some grass court clowns, which was great, we should NOT reward him with another pay check, is he even playing seriously on the tour? futures, challengers? Might as well give to some at least on upward curve.

It does look as if Marcus is having a go this year - he has entered all three GB futures, although he will still need to step up a fair bit to be worth a wild card. But I wouldn't be surprised if he was rewarded for his efforts last year.

There is no way the marketing men for Wimbledon would not give Marcus as MD WC this year. After the story last year, it would be too good of an opportunity to miss for them. Whether it's the right decision or not, is a different question. Personally, I would give him the WC. But hey. I'm a big fan of his, so I'm biased.

Agree about Marcus. Would think that with a number of other young players such as Norrie moving up it may be that Broady and Ward are at best rewarded with a QWC but there is of course time for both to pick up some points and if they are making real progress I would not have a problem with them getting into the MD. I don't like WCs for slams but if we have them then give them to our own players at least. I am also optimistic Bedene won't need any, he is under ranked at the moment and should be able to move back into the top 100 if he can stay healthy.
