Last year in this week Katie was playing Fed Cup and winning two of her three matches.
Generally not been a good time since. I really hope that in the coming months she can get and stay fit and truly show her talent.
Personally I put it down to the curse of the NTC!! At the same time as she announced after Fed Cup that she was going pro, she moved from her base in the USA (Wichita?) to the NTC to be looked after by the LTA. Seriously I think her underwhelming form has been down to niggling injuries but the NTC does seem to precipitate a dip in form with everyone that goes there..... Hopefully now with David Felgate at JTC and injuries behind her she will start to head for the heights again.

Agh, she should never have swapped the States for LTA central! USA is clearly where she does best.

Yes. Although it's half said in jest, it's only half.
JWH was doing brilliantly until he moved from Soto to NTC.
JoKo and Evo and various others seem to have only taken off once the NTC was truly behind them.
Gabi's mother obviously believes that the rats there near killed her daughter...... (well, now she's got round the fact that it wasn't a player).
We should invite the French team to train there free of charge for a month prior to our Davis cup match against them. Just as a sign of Anglo French solidarity.
Olivia was edged out in a tight match against Betkas. They have similar games with them slicing backhands a fair amount of time and likeing coming to the net and both coming to the net. Betkas has a simple but good technique on the serve. Olivia seemed to favour her backhand. In the second set tie break the umpire had an absolute shocker. Betkas twice played a let after two shots that Olivia hit were well in were but called out (at least I think that's what happened as I was a court away and couldn't hear all that well). Olivia had a set point at 6-5 serving but was too passive and Betkas forced a backhand winner up the line. On match point down Olivia hit a bit a backhand return up the line which she thought was in put again called out
Lauryn was a set and a break down and I think 0-40 to go a double break down and fought back to win. She got tight serving it out in the third set but played a lot more composed game to break to win instead with a super backhand right in the corner to win.
Katie has clearly not 100%, grimacing throughout and bending double in the last game. I can see Indy's mind whirring as he reads this. She pulled out of the doubles so at least her team have some sense. Udvardy was impressive taking the ball up the court more than Katie and had better shotmaking as a result.
Maia played her consistent brand of tennis, her opponent wasn't up to much.
Star of the day was Sarah Beth, I saw her a couple of weeks ago at a British Tour and this was a massivly improved performance, hitting a much flatter ball. Wasn't afraid to rally, was patient and worked openings even when losing points was doing the right things and won cheap points with some excellent lefty serves. And did that the whole match not faltering when close to winning. Always in control, very impressive.
I arrived late and had to leave early so unfortunately didn't see any of the others.
