Today's win may see Billy break into the top 1000 for the 1st time when these points are added on 20th Feb, although that will be shortlived unless he can pick up some more points as his QF points from Murcia last year come off a week later and his point from Cartagena comes off the week after that.

Billy will also enter the GB top 25 table on the week beginning 20th Feb, that table that still lives in our minds as such a great resource, and hopefully indeed to soon rise again.

As with the world top 1000 he needs further wins to stay there in the immediate future. Well, indeed probably just a win if he was to win his QF here and now.

Anyone know if Billy is still driving himself around and living out the back of a van? I think I've got that right!

Well, I asked the question.  He replied:

Yea still in the Ford tranny, gave her a bit of a refurb before I set off this time.

I hope he installed a washing machine this time.

You've got to admire his (apologies) drive! Hope he does as well as his van-living predecessor, Dustin Brown!

Tough going so far today against last week's champion as Billy loses the 1st set 6-1. Time for another Billy comeback.

Not to be for Billy today as he loses 1&1. I doubt he was helped by having to play 3 matches yesterday, a 3 set singles plus 2 doubles matches whilst Travaglia just had a comfortable 3&2 win in a singles match.

To be fair though, Travaglia was probably a bridge too far for Billy anyway right now. He was top 200 just 2 years ago and is clearly on form having won the tournament last week.

So a solid week for Billy and lots to build on. Stay healthy Billy. The future is looking good.
